This book is produced is such a way that it will never go out of print. We wanted to ensure it will be always remain as part of the Birman heritage.

The profits from sales go to help Birmans and at the present time are going towards FIP research.

The original book written by Gisele Barnay/Simone Poirier was published in 1987. ISBN 2-85182-335-3.

Note (We were given the Publishing rights for the English Edition in 2006)

Written by German Breeder and author Anneliese Hackman. Von Assindia was her cattery name . The book was published in 1982

Le Chat Races Elevage  Maladies

Written by E Larieux and P Jumaud in 1926 following Jumaud's  theses being presented in Lyon.

4 edition Les Races de Chat written by Dr Phillipe Jumaud published 1935

Nos Compagnons Les Chats written by Boileve de la Gombaudiere President du Cat Club de Paris. Printed in 1932 this book contains photographs of IC Dieu de Arakhan and Zaquelle de Mandalay bred by M Baudoin. Siamese Aladin and Banco d'Ispahan belonging to Mme Noclain. A hybrid Persian mated to a Siamese. belonging to Mme Masson. All members of Cat Club Paris

Written by Marcel Reney this is one of 33 original edition limited edition books. Published in 1946 There is a chapter written about Birmans and also one about the Khmer which does link into the ancestry of our Birmans

Le Guide des Chats was Published in  1971

The other one is Sa Majesté le Chat published in 1956 Both contain information about the early Birmans.

Written by S M Manton the one on the left is the original editors proof copy dated 1970 SBN 04630085. The second was published in 1979  ISBN 0-906604-00-1 These books confirm the Birman Persian relationship
The First book written by Vivien Creasy Smith was The Birman Cat The Sacred Cat of Burma. Her second book  The Birman Cat World Wide was published 1991 ISBN 0-9518799-0-1
The Legend of Siamese  Cats written by Martin Clutterbuck and published in Thailand. ISBN 974-8434-51-6. This book contains photographs of the parchments of cat drawings and poems done by monks in the temples in Thailand. The original parchments are held in the National Museum in Bangkok.

 For a number of years The Birman Cat Club published Year books they contained photographs and pedigrees for many breeders cats also listed all the title winners

The GCCF Stud books list all the title winners for all breeds  for the years in which  they were published. We used these for reference for data in the database.

Our cats And all About Them was written by Harrison Weir, past President of the National Cat Club, was published in 1889.

 

The Book of The Cat  was written by Frances Simpson published in 1903 Below I have added a few photographs from this book. They depict early cat shows. and catteries.
